I made these cookies last weekend and couldn’t help but make them again this weekend because they were so good!

Here’s how can you make these delicious treats!
Ingredients:

  • 1 banana, mashed
  • 1/2 cup chunky peanut butter
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 1/2 cup whole wheat flour
  • 1/4 cup nonfat dry milk powder
  • 2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp baking soda
  • 2/3 cup dried cranberries

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Combine mashed banana, peanut butter, honey, and vanilla in medium bowl. In a seperate bowl mix together oats, flour, milk powder, baking soda, and cinnamon. Stir dry mixture into the banana mixture and stir until well combined. Mix in cranberries. Drop rounds of dough on greased baking sheet and flatten slightly. Bake for 10-12 minutes until they are lightly browned. Cook on wire rack and cool. Makes a little over a dozen cookies.

Check out these new Lärabar flavors I tried this week!

First of all, I was really uncertain about the Pistachio because I am not a pistachio person and was certain I would hate it. However, because it was a blend of dates, pistachios, and cashews, it was actually really good! I enjoyed it WAY more than I anticipated. Secondly, the Peanut Butter and Jelly flavor is one of my new favorites, it tastes just like the real thing! Way to go guys on this one, its absolutely delicious!

Third was Conconut Cream Pie; holy moly this one was tasty! I am a total sucker for coconut so naturally I thought this one was to die for. However, because of all the coconut inside this little bar, I found it to be a little more crumbly then the others. Last was Key Lime Pie. This was another surprise to me. I am NOT a lime person at all and was again certain I was not going to love this one. But Lärabar did it again and created the perfect blend of cashews, almonds, coconut, and lime juice! SOO good! I actually bought another one of these at Jewel this weekend!

I would recommend all of these Lärabar flavors to everyone out there, it’s hard to pick a favorite!

After today’s run I decided to give Runner’s Granola a try!

This granola is hand-made in Omaha, Nebraska by a local runner who decided to create the perfect post-run snack.

The granola has approximately a 4:1 carb to protein ratio to aid post-run recovery, however athletes of all kinds can appreciate it. I thought it was stange that the calories were not listed on the Nutrition Label.

Runner’s Granola is made of a mix of hearty ingredients including rye flakes, whole soybeans, cornmeal, rolled oats, wheat germ, and sunflower seeds. The unique spicy, dark roasted flavor is unusual and kind of turned me off at first since I am used to sweeter granola. It wasn’t necessarily my favorite granola, but it sure did the trick for my post-run hunger! I don’t think Runner’s Granola is sold anywhere but in local grocery stores and coffee shops in Omaha, but I am sure it will be up for sale soon on their website!Enjoy this post?
